My sympathy to the family of a great guy; I will miss Tom. I was a classmate of Tom's at the Coast Guard Academy where he was a good friend of mine but unfortunately I never had the opportunity to serve with him during our service careers, so we lost contact in the main until I took over e mail correspondent for the class of 1958. He was a frequent correspondent and I enjoyed his communications which, regretfully, had gotten fewer as the years went by. I enjoyed Tom as a friend, a classmate and as a person. He will be missed by all of us...Regretfully and much to my sorrow, I only became aware of his passing, and the service tomorrow, at 10 pm this evening the 26th, making it impossible for me to attend from where I live. I hope that someone who attends will say a fond farewell to a good friend for me....and I thank you for it.
