Obituary for Maureen Radcliffe (Tkacz)

SEYMOUR, CT: Maureen (Tkacz) Radcliffe age 72 of Seymour entered peaceful rest on December 4, 2013 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis; she was the beloved wife of the late Richard "Rod" Radcliffe. Mrs. Radcliffe was born October 17, 1941 in Derby, daughter of the late Morris and Doris (Morgan) Tkacz. Maureen was a retired Registered Nurse having worked for Dr. Slusky, in Derby, the Chatfield Elementary School, in Seymour, and the Griffin Hospital, Derby. She was an active communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church; she volunteered for the Seymour Pumpkin Festival, and Maureen was an avid fan of watching sports, especially UCONN Basketball. Maureen leaves her loving family including her daughters, Kim Barton and her husband Scott, and Jodi Starkey and her husband Motor; her sisters, Debra Mullen and her husband Kevin, and Nancy Savignano and Ken Antonacci; a brother Thomas M. Tkacz; her grandchildren, Alex and Lindsay Barton and Michael Starkey all of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. Her sister-in-law Marie Tkacz and nephew Tommy Tkacz, Jr predeceased her. Calling Hours will be Saturday, December 7 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Funeral Service of Requiem Eucharist in celebration of Maureen's life will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church St., Seymour.
