Robert C. “Bob” Ainsworth, age 68, beloved husband of 40 years to Nancy (Arsan) Ainsworth of Oxford, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.

He was born on July 19, 1946 in Derby and was the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Pettybone) Ainsworth. Mr. Ainsworth was U.S. Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Essex during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a surveyor for the State of CT for over 20 years before his retirement. He was a very talented Portrait Artist and enjoyed working with his hands whether it was model trains, carpentry, vegetable gardening. He also loved sailing and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his devoted wife, he leaves a sister, Sara Mandela of VT, two sisters in law, Bonnie Alvelo of Seymour and Susan Arsan of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews, with a special thank you to his niece Holly Arsan and Nephew, Adam Alvelo both of Seymour for their help and support during his recent illness. He was predeceased by his brother, Philip “Pete” Ainsworth and Brother in law, E. Eric Arsan, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4 at 12:30 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Committal will be held in private.
