Life Story for Doris M. Smith (McAuliffe)

Doris M.  Smith (McAuliffe)
OXFORD, CT: Doris M. Smith, age 95 of Oxford entered peaceful rest on April 14, 2015 at her home; she was the beloved wife of Wesley E. Smith and was the widow of Edward Anderson. Mrs. Smith was born May 8, 1919 in Derby, daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Moseley) McAuliffe. Doris was a retired Legal Secretary having worked for several local Attorneys. She was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Mrs. Smith was very active with the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Auxiliary, and had served as Past President of the VFW Auxiliary at the State level.

Doris leaves her loving family in addition to her husband, her sister Jean Mester (Ted) of Orange, her grandchildren, Erin Kallogjeri, Stacey Anderson, Bethany Curtiss, and Marley Sessa, and her great grandchildren, Julia, Sophie, Adrian, David, and Ava; a step-son, Wesley Smith of Carey, NC, step-daughters, Marjorie Hotchkiss and Arlene Fanning, her daughter-in-law, Lorene Anderson all of Oxford. Her son, Craig E. Anderson predeceased her.

Calling Hours are Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
