Obituary for Carl P. Thomas

Carl P. Thomas, age 85, of Seymour, beloved husband of Erika (Jagstadt) Thomas, entered peaceful rest on Friday, June 12, 2015 in CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Cleveland, OH on August 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Gerhald and Anna (Kasdner) Thomas. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Thomas was a Gas Turbine Engineer for 25 years with AVCO Lycoming where he worked on many military programs, including the A1 Abrams battle tank. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and all things “electronic”. In addition to his wife, survivors include his loving children, Karl Jagstadt and his wife Delores of GA, Peter Thomas and his wife Janet of Naugatuck, and Caroline Spaulding and her husband Ralph of Seymour and six cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Kurt, Amanda, Nathan and Erika. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:30 am from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 with the committal taking place directly following in Mt. Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Carl’s name to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06404.
