Obituary for Alexandria S. Smith (Sovitsky)

Alexandria S. Smith, age 95, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late James Francis Smith, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, October 1, 2015 in Greer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Canaan. Born in Ansonia on September 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Pivon and Anna (Glus) Sovitsky. A dedicated parishioner of Three Saints Church in Ansonia, she enjoyed crocheting, worked at the Methodist Home in Shelton and at Carvel’s in Ansonia, and took pride in being one of Seymour’s first female crossing guards. Survivors include her beloved children, George Alex Sovitsky and his wife Pauline of NV, Margaret Trybus of Seymour, and Michael Smith and his wife Kathy of Seymour; many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, one sister, and her son-in-law Karl Z. Trybus. Funeral Services will take place at on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:00 am from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 and at 11:00 am in Three Saints Church, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Three Saints Cemetery, Derby. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Alexandria’s name to Three Saints Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia, CT 06401.
