Life Story for William D. McEvoy Sr.

William D.  McEvoy Sr.
OXFORD, CT: William D. McEvoy, Sr., age 84 of Oxford entered peaceful rest at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Weller) McEvoy. Mr. McEvoy was born May 1, 1931 in Derby, son of the late Frank and Louise (Schultz) McEvoy. William was a retired Maintenance Technician from the City of Derby, Housing Authority, and from the Homer D. Bronson Co. formerly in Beacon Falls. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War; he enjoyed woodworking, attending local youth softball games, UCONN Women's Basketball, and was a Tony Stewart NASCAR Racing fan. Mr. McEvoy also loved taking drives and weekend trips with his wife to northern New England, and PA, and extended trips to Florida.

In addition to his wife, William leaves his loving family including, his son, William McEvoy, Jr. and his wife Donna of Wellington, FL, his daughters, Deborah Baim of Oakville, and Christine McEvoy of Oxford, his grandchildren, Jessica, William, III, Samantha, John, Michelle, and Tracy, and his great grandchildren, John, Camron, and Ellie, and also several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Robert and Frank, and sister Shirley Lee predeceased him.

Calling Hours will be Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Funeral Service in celebration of William's life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
