OXFORD – John Edward Dempsey, age 63 of Oxford, beloved husband of Sandra (Adams) Dempsey, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on October 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor (Honn) Dempsey. A truck driver for Anthony Julian R.R. Construction, John will be remembered for love of his family, especially his adored grandson, Adrian.
John’s best-spent moments were in the company of his family. He found great joy in his caring for those he loved, listening to music, and watching his son, Brian, race his motorcycles.
In addition to his grandson, and wife of 33 years, John is survived by his cherished children, Brian Dempsey of Oxford, Casey Dempsey of Boston, and Erin Dempsey of New Haven; brother, Rob Dempsey of FL, and his sister, Christine Stunzi of Bridgeport.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will take place on January 21st at 7:00pm at Christ Church, 470 Quaker Farms Rd, Oxford. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ralph Hull FH, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
