Obituary for Olga Chernecky-McGuinness (Budnik)

Olga Chernecky-McGuinness- Memory Eternal to Olga Chernecky-McGuinness of Alpharetta, GA, formerly of Seymour, CT. 88 years old, she was baptized in the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord in Brooklyn, NY and a lifetime dedicated member of the Orthodox Church in America. She was married in and attended Three Saints Church in Ansonia, CT where she sang in the choir, moved to Spring Hill, FL where she was one of the founders of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church along with her husband Edward and upon her husband’s death she moved to GA where she lived with her daughter and attended and served on the church council of Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church in America. She was the wife of the late Edward S. Chernecky and second husband Robert McGuinness. Her profession as a nurse was a true joy and she had a great zest and traveled to many countries and throughout the USA and truly enjoyed meeting people. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Richard Chernecky (MS) and Dr. Cynthia Chernecky (GA); beloved sister to Helen Prohorik (CT) and Joseph Budnik (CT); beloved grandmother of Ellie Burton, Annie Chernecky, Michael Chernecky and great grandson Liam Burton. Proceeded in death by her mother Anna (Yelenovsky) Budnik and father Severin Budnik. Family would like to thank Olga, Don, Peter and Katya McNeill, Dr. Vincent and Doris Hunter, Yelena and Igor Senko, Eileen and Ed Sztuka, Elaine Calugar, David and Lucy Flowers, Father Cyprian DuRant, Father Peter and Matushka Terri Smith, the Budnik family living in the Ukraine and Great Britain and the nuns of Saints Mary & Martha Monastery for their prayers, caring and support. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00am DIRECTLY in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia, CT 06401. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 4-6:00pm at Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483.
