Lucille O. Lopez, age 87 of Shelton entered peaceful rest on October 16, 2016 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; she was the beloved wife of the late Frederick R. Lopez. Lucille was born February 3, 1929 in Uxbridge, MA, daughter of the late Harry and Blanche (Blanchard) Saucier. She was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and UCONN Huskies men's and women's basketball fan. Lucille was an integral part in raising her family; she was proud to help raise her brother Harry, and was always there when it came to helping raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially afghans and her famous Christmas Slippers. She was also fond of her gambling trips to the various casinos. Lucille leaves her loving family including, her daughters, Linda Bellavance of Seymour, Laurie Lopez of Lewiston, ME, and Lee Ann (Bunny) Hatfield (John) of Seymour; her brothers, Harry (Butch) Saucier (Mary) of Yarmouthport, MA, and Arthur Saucier (Peg) of South Yarmouth, MA, her sisters, Leola Gaulin and Ethel McGonagle both of Woonsocket, RI; her grandchildren, Joseph and Shawn Bellavance and Jay Hatfield and Jennifer Dorsey (Bryan); and great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ryan, Casey, Zachary and Kayla. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Harriet and Violet, and brother Jay. She will be greatly missed by those who love her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia (DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).
