Obituary for Gladys M. Malasankas (Finkle)

Gladys M. (Burt) Malasankas, age 93 of Oxford, beloved wife of the late Peter Malasankas, Sr., entered peaceful rest on Saturday, November 19, 2016, in her home surrounded by family. Born in Seymour on March 4, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George and Nelly (Finkle) Burt. An active member of Trinity Episcopal Church (Seymour) for 87 years, Gladys was known for her love of knitting which she shared with the church community. She also enjoyed gardening and was always helpful to those in need. Survivors include her loving sons, Peter Malasankas, Jr. and his wife Grace of Oxford, and Paul Malasankas and his wife Cathy of FL; her sister, Evelyn Bernier of Seymour, as well as four grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by twelve siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 DIRECTLY in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. There will be no calling hours.
