Catherine Ann (Gibbons) LoPresti, age 76, a 56 year resident of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest on January 14, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her husband, children, and family. Born on November 15, 1940 in Boston, MA, she was the beloved wife of Anthony LoPresti and the daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Finley) Gibbons. She was a devoted, strong, loving, and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. An avid sports enthusiast, she loved watching her boys, and then grandchildren play youth, high school, and college sports as well as following UCONN basketball, the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots. Cathy enjoyed bingo, her excursions to the casino with her good friends, and spending as much time as possible with her family and grandchildren. Cathy leaves her loving husband Tony and her six boys: Anthony and wife Kim, Eddie, Michael and wife Dione, Joe and wife Amy, Tommy, and Sean. She also leaves her 12 adoring grandchildren: Michael Jr., Morgan, Madyson, Tanner, Kassi, Makenzie, Matt, Jay, Matthew, Carli, Sara, and Hannah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Calling hours are Thursday, January 19 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
