Life Story for William L. "Bill, Billy" Jensen Jr.

William (Bill, Billy) L. Jensen, Jr., age 74, beloved husband of 49 years to Geraldine M. (Blackwood) Jensen of Beacon Falls entered into peaceful rest on March 19th surrounded by his loving family at Griffin Hospital in Derby.
He was the son of the late William L. Jensen, Sr. and the late Elizabeth (McCluskey) Reynolds and was born on December 26, 1942 in New Haven. Mr. Jensen graduated from Seymour High School where he played football and was a member of the aviation club. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force as a B-52 Bomber Chief Aircraft Mechanic. He worked for Farrell's Corp. in Ansonia as a draftsman and manager, and later as an engineer, engineering manager for Air Shield Corp. in Stratford for 29 years. Bill was the proud owner/operator of BJ's Model Engine Service and was the former owner of the Prospect Mobile Gas Station. Along with his endeavors as an entrepreneur, Bill was an inventor and had several patents in aviation equipment. Bill was a Private Pilot and enjoyed flying his planes out of the Oxford Airport. He was an avid RC pilot, and was a founding member and past president of the Quaker Farms RC Club in Oxford, and member and past president of the Northeast Pylon Racing Organization (NEPRO). Bill also enjoyed reading, fishing and playing his guitar. He was a longtime member of the Oxford United Church of Christ Congregational. Bill will always be remembered for his sense of humor and passion for aviation.
In addition to his devoted wife, Bill leaves his beloved children, Robert Jensen of Cummington, MA and Holly Buckley and her husband Gene of Terryville and his cherished grandchildren, who fondly called him “Papa,” Frankie and Gena Buckley and Shea Jensen and his loving brother, Thomas Jensen and his wife Sandra of Lake Wales, Florida. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his loving brothers in law, Andrew Blackwood of Ansonia and Ernest Blackwood and his wife Carmela of Derby and his loyal sidekick, his dog Theo.
Bill’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the family, friends and caregivers who have provided their unwavering support over the course of Bill’s long illness.
Family and friends may call on Friday, March 24th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Oxford United Church of Christ, Congregational, 3 Academy Road, Oxford, CT 06478. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home in Milford.
