BRIDGEPORT, CT: Ida Janowitz, age 89 of Ansonia entered peaceful rest on August 10, 2017 at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour; she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Janowitz. Ida was retired from the JC Penny Department Store, and had worked at several other department stores. Ida was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Samuel and Sophie (Yakabousky) Yackoff. She enjoyed doing volunteer work, and loved Polka Dancing with her husband.
Ida leaves her loving family including her daughters, Sophie Evans of Ansonia, and Diana Roman of Manchester, NH, a brother, Murray Yackoff in New York, also 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Ida’s life will be held Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour.
