Obituary for Morris Tkacz

SEYMOUR, CT: Morris Tkacz, age 88 of Pershing Avenue, entered into peaceful rest September 4, 2003 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was the beloved husband of sixty five years of Doris (Morgan) Tkacz. Mr. Tkacz was born May 23, 1915 in Seymour, son of the late Michael and Ann (Beresnuk) Tkacz. Morris retired as the Past President of The Seymour Lumber and Supply Company, Inc. where he started working in 1929 under his benefactor Thomas S. Coleman. Mr. Tkacz was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church; a volunteer firefighter with the Citizens Engine Co.,Seymour, and the Fountain Hose Co., Ansonia. He was a member of the Russian American Club, the former Odd Fellows Lodge in Seymour; he was a member of the Order of Hoo Hoo Lumber Association. Mr. Tkacz was honored by serving as a Grand Marshal in the Seymour Christmas Parade; he served on the Seymour Sewer Authority, and also the Seymour Re-development Commission.
Besides his wife Morris leaves his loving family including his son Thomas Tkacz and his wife Marie, three daughters, Debra Mullen and her husband Kevin, Maureen Radcliffe, and Nancy Savignano all of Seymour, a sister Olga Maximenko of Seymour, grandchildren, Kathy, Tammy, Wendy, Tommy, Kim, Jodi, Kevin, Tracey, Morgan, Jill, and Frankie, great grandchildren, Alex, Lindsey, Frankie, Michael, Zachery, Violet, Thomas, Bradley, Colby, and Michael, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John Tkacz, three sisters, Helen Ceszynski, Stephanie Neumann, and Mary Zigmunt, and a son-in-law Richard Radcliffe.
Funeral services in celebration of Morris’ life will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour to Trinity Episcopal Church for a service of Requiem Eucharist AT 10:00 A.M.. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
