Life Story for Alice B. Politis (Morris)

WOODBRIDGE: Alice B. Politis, age 84, of Woodbridge, beloved wife of the late Michael Politis, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Griffin Hospital, Hospice Unit, Derby. Mrs. Politis was born on August 13, 1924 in Scranton, PA to the late John and Ella (Browning) Morris. She was formerly of Oxford and a resident of Seymour since 1989. She was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church in Seymour and a member of the Olive Chapter of the Eastern Star, the V.F.W. Auxiliary #4360 in Palm Springs, FL and was the Past President of David S. Miles, Post #174 American Legion Auxiliary in Oxford, Past President the DAV of Seymour/Oxford and a Past Chapeau of Salon #60, New Haven County, 8 &40. She also enjoyed volunteer teaching at the Oxford Schools. Mrs. Politis is survived by her two children, Penny Politis Kovzel and her husband Stephen of Oxford and James Politis and his wife Victoria of Wellington, FL, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 3 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Family and friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450.
