Obituary for Ann B. Ives

OXFORD – Ann B. Ives, a lifelong resident of Oxford, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 10, 2020. Ann was born in Derby on March 8, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Bertha Stack. She graduated from Seymour High School, was a reservist in the Coast Guard, and started her career at Farrell Corp. in Ansonia. Ann spent her entire working career there and loved the people she worked with. Family was important to her, and she was happiest hosting them and friends for picnics in her yard. Ann also enjoyed watching her NY Yankees and UCONN Women’s Basketball. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her brothers, Victor Ives, Jr. and Richard Ives. She leaves behind her niece, Cheryl Sonick; nephews, David Ives (Lee), and Victor Ives, III (Gail); her very special cousins, Joyce Niestemski, Susan Chellis and Sandy Blum. She also leaves great nephews, great nieces, several cousins and friends who were always by her side. Her special caretaker, Barbara Taylor cannot be thanked enough for all that she did. Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be held in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Oxford, where she was a lifelong parishioner and member of the Alter Guild, at a later date. Memorial contributions in Ann’s name may be made to St. Peter’s Church, 421 Oxford Rd. Oxford, CT 06478. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Ralph Hull Funeral Home 161 W. Church St., Seymour CT.
