Obituary for Ann M. Sophy (Bennett)

Ann M. Bennett Sophy, age 84, of Southbury, beloved wife of the late George Sophy died peacefully on October 24th 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Westhampton, Long Island, New York on March 21, 1928 and was the daughter of the late William and Ann (Fourney) Bennett. Ann was a loving caring compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted her life to her family and friends. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Joann Michaud of Fairfield and her companion Brian Rooney, Judy Connell and her husband Edward of Oxford, and Gigi Langston of Oxford, son in law William Manjuck of Darien and her brothers, William and Donald Bennett of Westhampton LI, NY her eight grandchildren Brent and Kristina Michaud of Arizona, Brooke and Cory Leonard of Waterbury, Sara, Bennett, and Tyler Langston of Oxford, Ann Manjuck of Darien and five great grandchildren Corinne Leonard, Colton Langston, Caitlin, Izabella and Blake Knox and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved American Eskimo, Sara Belle. Her sister Betty Senese, daughter Bernice Manjuck and grandson Brian Berthold predeceased her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oxford United Church of Christ, Congregational, 3 Academy Road, Oxford. Interment will be held in private. Family and friends may call before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
