Dear MaryAnn, I'm so sorry to have read about your mom, my very dear dear friend of many many years. As you may know, I was the accountant for Preston Machine Co and your mom was the bookkeeper for many years. She was an excellent bookeeper and it was a real pleasure to work with her for so many years. Your mom called me faithfully for OH so many years on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday. We occasionally were at the Seymour Post Office getting our mail and we had an opportunity to chat for awhile and fill in what was happening in our lives. She did a great job helping Alice Preston with her records etc., again for many years. Of course I knew your dad and I still remember when she worked for Mike Mickewicz at the Brass Rail Tavern on New Street. Great pizza's and draft beer. She always worked so hard for the Preston's most all of her life. She deserved a great pension but got zero. She still would do it all over again no matter what. She was helpful to anyone that needed help without being asked. You had a great mom. I'm sure you will miss her very much as I will too. God will surely be good to your mom. My best to you and keep your chin up as your mom would want you to do, God Bless you and my best wishes to you and your children. Jack Thorpe
