Obituary for Anne Olechnowich (Babarik)

WATERBURY & SEYMOUR, CT: Anne Olechnowich age 89 of Waterbury, formerly of Seymour entered into peaceful rest July 28th at the Hewitt Memorial Hospital, Shelton; she was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Olechnowich. She was born March 26, 1919 in New Haven, daughter of the late Wasil and Josephine (Pigocki) Babarik. Anne was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, Ansonia; she enjoyed knitting and sewing, bingo, cooking and baking for her family; she also enjoyed tag sales. Anne leaves her loving daughters, Joanne Trez and her husband Thomas of Shippensburg, PA, and Cynthia Guastaferri and her husband Mark of Prospect, and five cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Trez, Nicholas, Michael and Lauren Guastaferri and her great granddaughter Anna Trez.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to St. Anthony’s Church, 199 N. Main St., Ansonia where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
