Life Story for Arthur W. Baldwin

SEYMOUR: Mr. Arthur W. Baldwin, age 82, beloved husband of 56 years to Ruth (Hager) Baldwin of Seymour, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his home surrounded by his devoted family.

He was born on July 15, 1927 in Derby son of the late John T. and Hilda (Fletcher) Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin is a U.S. Army veteran. He was a patternmaker for Farrel Corp in Ansonia for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Augustine Church, a member of the Farrel Old Timers Club and was the Seymour Zoning Enforcement Officer up until his retirement in March. Arthur served on many town boards including Seymour Police Commissioner, Chairman of Bungay School Building Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Board of Tax Review. Mr. Baldwin recently received a plaque of appreciation for his many years of dedication to the Town of Seymour. He was a former real estate agent in town and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves three devoted children, James Baldwin and his wife Patrice, Richard Baldwin and Karen Wasilewski and her husband Jim, six grandchildren, Michael Wasilewski of Brooklyn, NY, Patrick, and Daniel Wasilewski of Seymour, Nichole, Kara and Emily Baldwin all of Seymour. He also leaves a brother Arnold Baldwin of Middleton, MA and a sister Marion Lane of Kenmore, WA, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 29th at 9:15a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Avenue Seymour. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Family and Friends may call on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 p.m.at the funeral home.
