BEACON FALLS: Mr. Arthur L. Neumann, age 90, of Beacon Falls, beloved husband of the late Jennie (Sledjeski) Harrison Neumann passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury. Mr. Neumann was born on March 13, 1920 in Oxford to the late Mattus and Henrietta (Aldrich) Neumann. He was a steel furnace operator at the former Bridgeport Brass Company in Seymour for over 40 years before his retirement. Mr. Neumann was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and served as a tank operator with Company B, 4th Armed and were he took part in 5 major battles. Mr. Neumann is survived by his step daughter in law, Gladys Harrison of Plantsville, his sister, Evelyn Griswold of Seymour, his sister in law, Frances Brown of Naugatuck, three step granddaughters, Francine and Jeanine Harrison, Lee Earley all of Wolcott, his step great granddaughter, Kate Earley of Wolcott and six nieces and nephews. Francine McAree, Gale, Harold and Dennis Neumann, Robert Griswold and Gregory Molleur. In addition to his parents and wife, Jennie, his stepson, Charles A. Harrison, his brother, Harold Neumann, his sister, Henrietta Sherwinsky predeceased him. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oxford, CT. Interment to follow with Military Honors in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. There will be no calling hours.
