Life Story for Barbara Kelly Bengivengo (Kelly)

Barbara Kelly  Bengivengo (Kelly)
SEYMOUR, CT: Barbara (Kelly) Bengivengo, age 76 of Seymour formerly of New Port Richey, FL and Branford, CT; she entered into peaceful rest March 1, 2010 at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. She was born August 8, 1933 in New Haven daughter of the late William and Irene (Beaudreau) Kelly. Barbara was a retired receptionist having worked for Yale New Haven Hospital, the Peabody Museum, and the Visiting Nurse Association. Barbara was an accomplished Impressionist Oil Painter, and had a genuine love of the arts and music. Barbara found great enjoyment at the beach, especially the Ogunquit Shoreline of Maine and at home at Branford Point. She leaves her loving family including two sons, Richard Bengivengo of Seymour, and Robert Bengivengo and his wife Jean of Oxford, five grandchildren, Marisa (Patrick), Kristin, Heather, and Bobby, two great grandsons, Benjamin and Dominic, her former husband and life-long friend Guilio Bengivengo of Oxford, two sisters, Phyllis Cosenza and Joan Buttrick, and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, William Kelly, Jr., George Kelly, and sister, Rita Reynolds predeceased her.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 west Church Street, Seymour. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Barbara’s name may be sent to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford, CT 06478.
