SEYMOUR, CT: Barbara Halko, 83 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest May 23, 2009 at Shady Knoll Health Center; she was the beloved wife of Nicholas Halko. Mrs. Halko was born December 4, 1925 in Derby, daughter of the late Vito and Rafaela (Nuzzo) Cicia. Barbara was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd. She retired in 1969 from the B.F. Goodrich, Sponge Rubber Products Company in Shelton. Mrs. Halko interests included good discussions about politics.
In addition to her husband, Barbara leaves her loving son, Nicholas F. Halko and his wife Teresa of Oxford, two step-grandchildren, Gressa Shail of Wallingford, and Chelsea Bessette of Somerville, MA. Her brothers, Frank, Harry F., and Raymond Cicia, and sisters, Rose Sylvester, and Mary D’Aiuto predeceased her.
All services are private. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Her arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
