SEYMOUR - Barbara Jean (Ray) Streinz, age 71 of Seymour, entered peaceful rest on Monday, October 7, 2019 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in Canton, OH on December 28, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Ivan Sr. and Rita Ray. Barbara had many passions in life. She was an avid NY Yankees fan, enjoyed word search puzzles, watching game shows, drinking coffee (black, and she will scoop the sugar!), and winning with scratch-off tickets. You could always find her either outside on her swing with Larry, bird watching and gazing at all her flowers or resting in her recliner by the fire place. Barbara was especially fond of dogs, but loved nothing more than spending time with her cherished family. Survivors include her beloved husband Larry Streinz of Seymour and children, Cynthia Welsh (John) of Oxford, David Briggs (Candi) of Derby, and Daniel Allen Briggs of Seymour; sisters Vivian Meeker, Carol Cronick, Karen Ray, (her twin sister), and Jeannette Pelfrey all of Ohio; four adored grandchildren, Casey, Jonna, Joe and Kayla, as well as her canine companion Westley, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Ivan Ray, Jr. and sister Rita Bridenthal. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 11, 2019 starting at 12:30pm in the funeral home and at 1:30pm in St. Nicholas Parish - St. Augustine Church, Seymour. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
