Life Story for Bertha M Stack (Magda)

Bertha M  Stack (Magda)
Mrs. Bertha M. Stack, 100, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour. Bertha was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Ziemba) Magda of Oxford. She was the wife of the late Garrett M. Stack. She attended local schools and worked for UniRoyal for 37 years. In her younger years, she worked in the kitchen at Brookside Inn, Oxford. Bertha was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford and through the years, she also supported St. Peters Episcopal Church, Oxford. Bertha was a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Waterbury.
Bertha is survived by her three children, Victor W. Ives, Jr. and his wife Loretta, Richard N. Ives and Ann Ives, all of Oxford and three grandchildren, Cheryl Sonick of Fairfield, David Ives and Victor W. Ives, III both of Oxford, and eight great grandchildren, Rebecca Sonick, Jenny Sonick, David Ives, Jr., Alyssa Ives, Amanda Ives, Victor Ives, IV and Brandon Ives and several nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by her brothers and her sister, Walter Magda, Jospeh Magda, John Magda, and Victoria Niestemski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held On Saturday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford, CT 06478 or St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 421 Oxford, Rd., Oxford, CT 06478. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
