Obituary for Betty J. Moher (Moir)
SEYMOUR: Betty J. Moher, age 72 of Shelton, previously of Seymour, beloved wife of Atty. Michael Moher, entered peaceful rest on Monday, November 15, 2021 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Caribou, ME, on July 2, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Floyd W. Moir, and Eleanor (Adams) McGovern.
Betty loved doing thoughtful things and helping family, friends, and countless others. This made her a perfect fit for her favorite job as an Event Planner at the St. Vincent’s Foundation Swim Across the Sound. She loved family vacations, get-togethers, and holidays, especially Christmas Eve. She would make ordinary days special by cooking, baking, or making goodie bags for her family. She had the uncanny ability to make people smile and made so many feel that they were part of her family.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Betty is survived by her loving sons, Michael F. Moher and his wife Stacy of Seymour, Christopher J. Moher and his wife Crystal of Oxford, and siblings Johnny Moir, Carol Moir, Floyd Moir and his wife Janice, Graydon Moir and his wife Cindy, and Jackie Meissner and her husband Greg; 3 cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Emma and Aiden, as well as many nieces and nephews, including MaryAnn Gray and her husband Daniel. Betty was predeceased by her sister, Natalie DelGiudice.
Family and friends may call on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 10am DIRECTLY in St. Joseph’s Church, 50 Fairmont Pl. Shelton, CT 06484. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. As an alternative to flowers, a donation to a charity of your choosing to help others in honor of Betty would be appreciated.
