He started his career in the General Electric Manufacturing Management Training Program, working in Schenectady, NY, Cincinnati, OH and Bridgeport. He later worked with Risdon Corp. in Naugatuck and Truelove and Maclean in Waterbury where he retired in 2007.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 54 years, Karen (Prario) and his sons, Erik (Cecile) of New York City and Greg (M.C.) of Westford, VT. Bruce will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jackson, Alexandra and Cameron of New York City and Ziva of Westford, VT all of whom he absolutely cherished. Additionally, Bruce is survived by brothers Stephen (Robin) of Milton, NH, Richard of Carver, MA, Robert of Van Alystne, TX, and sister, Janet Taylor of Raynham, MA. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law Clayton and Leslie Prario and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to leaving behind a family that revered and adored him, Bruce leaves an extraordinary legacy of service to the town of Seymour. Among other leadership roles, Bruce served as Seymour’s Deputy First Selectman and Chairman of the Board of Education as well as a member of the Board of Ethics, Chatfield School Building Committee, High School Building Committee, Seymour Strategic Planning Committee and the Board of Assessment Appeals.
