Mrs. Carolyn E. Jensen, age 89, of Shelton and formerly of Southbury, beloved wife of the late John E. Jensen, Sr., entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Derby on December 5, 1924. She worked at the Southbury Training School for 17 years before her retirement. Mrs. Jensen was an active member of the Great Hill United Methodist Church in Seymour, a member of the Seymour Garden Club and she enjoyed travelling with her husband as members of the Winnebago Travelers Club. She is survived by her three devoted children, Christy (Michael) Keefe, Jack (Patti) Jensen, all of Southbury and Janis (Tom) Martin of Mesquite, TX, a sister, Alice Beaver and six grandchildren, and one great grandson. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Great Hill United Methodist Church, Seymour. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Great Hill United Methodist Church, 225 Great Hill Road, Seymour, CT 06483.
