Obituary for Charles A. "Chas" Bunting, Jr.

Charles A. “Chas” Bunting, Jr., 78 of Bethany, he entered peaceful rest at his home surrounded by his family on May 28, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Fassbender) Bunting. He was born Aug. 24, 1943, son of the late Charles A., Sr., and Doris (Chamberlin) Bunting. Chas was the retired owner of the former Bunting’s Express, Inc. in Seymour which he diligently operated for over 40 years. He was a member of the Russian American Club of Seymour, the Motor Transport Assn. of Connecticut, and the senior founding member of “The Loop”. Chas was an avid automobile and motorcycle enthusiast who loved attending NASCAR and NHRA Drag Racing Events. He enjoyed the comfort of relaxing at home with his family after a busy work day and watching his favorite teams play such as the NY Yankees, the Miami Dolphins, and UCONN Basketball.

In addition to his wife, Charles leaves his loving family including his sons, Ian C. Bunting and his fiancé Katelyn Hope of Cheshire, Karl Crozier of Seymour, and Eric Piampiano of Ansonia; also 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Jenna Piampiano. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Bunting.

Calling Hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:15 AM from the funeral home to Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church St. Seymour, for a service of Requiem Eucharist on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Michael J. Fox Fdn. or to the American Cancer Society. Please share a memory at www.hullfh.com
