OXFORD, CT: Clarence “Mac” McCluskey age 86 of Oxford entered into peaceful rest on September 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his caring family; he was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. (Fegan) McCluskey. Mr. McCluskey was born in Derby on March 12, 1933, son of the late William and Esther (Chilberg) McCluskey. As a veteran, Mac was a Army Airborne Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mac was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174, American Legion. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Mr. McCluskey was a master carpenter and craftsman; he built furniture and cabinetry, and also did home remodeling. Mac was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and snowshoeing; he was a champion archer who loved to hunt with bow and arrow. Mac will be fondly remembered for the love he had for his family, his friends and his faith.
In addition to he devoted wife of 64 years, Mac leaves his loving family including his daughters, Sheree Butcaris (Michael) of Beacon Falls, Cynthia McCluskey of Oxford, and Jill Falbo (Richard) of Beacon Falls; his grandchildren, Raymond Browning, Jessica Toman, Rachel Falbo, Matthew Butcaris, Katelyn Falbo, Jonathon Howard, and Erika Young; also 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, William and Carl McCluskey, and sister Carol Steelman predeceased him.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 4 – 8 PM in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 9 AM from the funeral home, to ST. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd. where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment with full Military Honors will be at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
