Obituary for David Palumbo

David A. Palumbo, age 50, passed away at his home in Seymour on December 27, 2021 after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Renee (Smith) Palumbo, and the devoted father of Hannah, Lucas, and Arienne Palumbo. David was born on February 17, 1971 to Rose (DeJoy) and Armando Palumbo of Shelton. David will be remembered fondly for his colorful sense of humor, his generous and giving spirit, and his huge heart. He was a man of many talents and he loved to design and install lighting and sound systems for local theaters and clubs. He spent several years working as a DJ for weddings and parties. David enjoyed tinkering in the garage, restoring boats and motorcycles, and building things. He always enjoyed landscaping and working in the yard. David loved to give his time and talents to helping people in need, and volunteered over the years, with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Citizens Engine Fire Company, the Knights of Columbus, Seymour Culture and Arts, the local EMS, and his children’s schools. In spite of his illness, he was always willing to give to those in need, whether it was his time, his talents, or his money.

In addition to his wife, children, and parents, David leaves behind his brother Al Palumbo and his sister-in-law Sherry; his niece Jacquelyn and his nephew Nicholas; many aunts, uncles and cousins, and numerous friends.

Due to recent increases of COVID-19, services have been postponed and will be scheduled at a date and time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honor David is requested to make a contribution to his children’s college fund via Renee Palumbo, 138A Old Ansonia Road, Seymour, CT 06483, or to make a donation to the ECD Global Alliance in David’s name.
