Obituary for De Contois
BEACON FALLS: Delia “De” (Beckwith) Wheeler-Contois, age 84 of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of the late Philias Contois, entered peaceful rest on Monday, January 10, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. Born in Derby on March 15, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Thelma (Watson) Beckwith.
A retired factory worker and home health aide, De left a lasting impression with everyone she met with her funny, sincere and loving personality. Family was the most important thing to De. She was truly the Matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed.
De is survived by two loving children, Martin Wheeler (spouse Nancy) of (Phoenix, AZ), and Donna Morrow of Beacon Falls, along with nephew David Beckwith and niece Tracy LaFlamme who De raised from a young age.
Also surviving, grandson Christopher Morrow (spouse Amanda) and great grandchildren, Colton and Chloe Morrow, of Beacon Falls, as well as step daughter Donna Baribault (spouse David) and grandson Danny Baribault of Watertown.
Surviving siblings are Albert “Al” Beckwith, David Beckwith, Sr., Donna Dobson (spouse Fred), and Ethel Thorpe (spouse John). In addition to her parents and husband, De was predeceased by her first husband, Wilbur “Web” Wheeler.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Pines Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11am. Memorial contributions are requested to be made to Beacon Hose Company #1, 35 N Main St, Beacon Falls, CT 06403. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483has been entrusted with her arrangements.
