Digna Rose Huertas Valentin, age 87 of Ansonia, she entered into peaceful rest on April 7, 2020 at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour; she was the beloved wife of the late Tomas Gonzalez. Digna was born September 29, 1932 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Angel Huertas and Theodora Valentin. Digna worked as a nurse for many years. She was a devout Communicant of Paso Palmas Catholic Church in Utuado; her passion in life was the love she had in helping others.

Digna leaves her loving family including, her daughters, Daris Salinas and her husband Albert of Ansonia, and Dialynette Gerena in Florida; her sons, Tomas Gonzalez and his wife Lucy of East Haven, and and Edgar Gonzalez and his wife Marixza of Clinton; her brothers, Jorge Huertas and Guelo Huertas in Puerto Rico, and Nando Huertas in New York; her sisters, Ines , Lola, Elba, and Anette all in Puerto Rico; her grandchildren, Ricky, Jennifer, Sammy, Adriel, Daniel, and Joel Gonzalez, Jorge, Jessie, and Kashua Gerena, and Albert, Jr., and Tatiana Salinas, and many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
