Obituary for Dolores Proch (Kropiewnicki)

SEYMOUR – Dolores (Kropiewnicki) Proch, age 88 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Paul Peter Proch, entered in peaceful rest on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at home with family. Born in Hudson, PA, on January 24, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Leopold and Frances (Bolacker) Kropiewnicki. Dolores graduated as valedictorian of her class from Ansonia High School in 1952. She married Paul Proch on May 12, 1956.

Dolores took great satisfaction in being a mother; her sons were her pride and joy. Her love for her family extended to her daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, and she loved traveling to spend time with them. Dolores was incredibly proud of her Polish heritage and kept the Proch and Kropiewnicki families well connected through her love of letter writing, reunions, and family gatherings. She loved to reminisce and had the gift of an excellent memory. Dolores worked as a legal secretary for attorneys May and Stanek for many years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and winning scratch-off tickets. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. If she wasn’t watching baseball, she was tuned into Everybody Loves Raymond. Dolores loved traveling with her husband, Paul. Their adventures took them to Niagara Falls, Pennsylvania, New England, Atlantic City, Nantucket, Florida, England, Portugal, Panama, St Croix, and her most cherished trip to Poland. Dolores loved the company of others and, was an active member of the Seymour Public Library, Shelton Senior Center, and was a dedicated parishioner of Good Shepherd Church in Seymour since its inception in 1967. She loved volunteering her time at Griffin Hospital and was known to make new friends everywhere she went.

Survivors include her cherished sons, Philip Proch and his partner Dorothy Hertz of MA, Thomas Proch and his wife Pauline of MA, Daniel Proch and his wife Lisa of North Haven; and Richard Proch and his wife Sandy of FL; sister, Antoinette Brown of WA; her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, and (Courtney), Michael, Cody, and (Matthew), Alexandra, Maya, Zosia, Amanda, Adam, Mason, and Leland, as well as her adored great-granddaughter, Evelyn Dolores. In addition to her husband, Dolores was predeceased by her grandson, Jamie. She will be missed by the many loving extended family and the friends she made throughout her life.

Relatives and friends can greet the family on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrate her life on Thursday DIRECTLY at 11 am in the Church of the Good Shepherd (St. Nicholas Parish), 135 Mountain Rd.
