Obituary for Dorrit ""Dee"" Rippchen

SOUTHBURY, CT: Dorrit "Dee" (McHardy) Rippchen, of Hull’s Hill Road, entered into rest March 14, 2002 at the CT Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Captain James T. Rippchen.
Mrs. Rippchen was born December 2, 1923 in Seymour, daughter of the late Charles Raymond, and Mable Palmer McHardy. She was a Southbury and Fairfield resident for most of her life, and was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran, serving with the WAC’s. Dee formerly played on the Canadian Royal Baseball Team; was a member of the Fairfield American Legion Post for 54 years, and was a supporter of many Veteran’s associations. She was a member of the C.F. Menninger Society, and also the Albert Schweitzer Institute. Dee treasured her family and friends, and most wanted to be remembered for her children.
Dee leaves her loving family including, 1 son Thomas J. Rippchen of South Windsor, 3 daughters, Cynthia Ripke-Kutsagowitz of Ocala, FL, Anitra Anderson of North Haven, and Heidi Armati of Southbury. Also 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held Saturday March 23, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Trinity Cemetery, West Street, Seymour. Family and friends may call at Trinity Cemetery Chapel also on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to Disabled American Veteran’s, Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, or to the Albert Schweitzer Institute, c/o Quinnipiac College, Mt.
