Obituary for Edward M. Conklin
Edward M. Conklin, age 74 of Southington, entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Shady Knoll Healthcare Center, Seymour, CT, surrounded by family. Ed was born on October 28, 1948 and grew up in Greenwich, CT. He is the son of Richard Conklin and the late Stella (Kasmarski) Conklin of Greenwich.
Edward was a retired computer programmer. He began programming in the early stages and was well respected in his field. He taught programming in his early twenties and at times traveled abroad to program for large corporations. A talented and competitive athlete growing up, Edward played baseball, football, golf and tennis. He also liked skiing and hockey. Edward enjoyed his time being outside, especially by the water. Boating and vacationing at the beach were important to him as well. He loved listening to music including Jimmy Buffet and Paul Simon.
Edward is survived by his father Richard, his sisters, Estelle Hayes and Elaine Conklin along with his beloved children, Marc Conklin, Michael Conklin and his wife Laura of Bethany and his daughter, Meagan Scott and her husband RJ of Orange and his 5 cherished grandchildren, Valerie, Raven, Sarina, Robbie and Ryan.
