Obituary for Edward C. Dilley

SEYMOUR - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edward C. Dilley announce his passing on January 15, 2021 in Seymour. Born on March 2, 1934, he was a Korean War Veteran and proud member of the American Legion Post #174, Oxford, and a retired machinist from Farrell's, Ansonia. Edward was a kind and gentle soul and the most generous man to all who knew him. Hobbies included fishing, hunting, horseshoes and playing cards with family and friends.

Edward is survived by his beloved children, Kenneth (Denise) Dilley of FL, and Tracy Mucka of NE; cherished grandson, Eugene Ferretti of CT; loving sisters, Beverly Dilley of CT, Diane Wilcox of CT, Maureen Sedor of FL, and Joyce Dewitt of ME; sister-in-law, Carol Dilley of FL; brother-in-law, Andrew Sandowich of CT, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his loving friends and neighbors, Frank and Angelica Gyongyosi, and Ben and Chase. Edward was predeceased by his former wife, Betty (Brickett) Dilley; brothers, Robert Sr. and Gerald Dilley, and sisters, Rosalie Sandowich and Margaret (Hatstat Ribes) Dilley.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11am in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of services. Burial with full military honors will follow in Southford Cemetery, Oxford. Please note that social distancing and usage of masks will be observed throughout services.
