Obituary for Edward W. Lydiksen

SHELTON, CT: Edward W. Lydiksen, age 82, a 47 year resident of Shelton, entered into peaceful rest January 11, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital; he was the beloved husband of the late Shirley (Olsen) Lydiksen. Mr. Lydiksen was born September 9, 1928 in Bridgeport, son of the late Edward and Bernice (Walker) Lydiksen. Edward was a retired Manager from General Electric Supply, Bridgeport. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War; he was a founding member of the Huntington United Methodist Church, a member of the American St. John's Masonic Lodge #8, Stratford. Edward enjoyed hunting and team target shooting.

Mr. Lydiksen leaves his loving family including a son, Erik Lydiksen of Seymour, 2 daughters, Karen Murphy and her husband Jim of Seymour, and Laura Cullen and her husband Kevin of Wappingers, NY, a brother, Robert Lydiksen and his wife Linda of Trumbull, his sister, Sandra James and her husband Bob of Peterborough, NH, 9 grandchildren, Erik and Luke Lydiksen, Caitlyn, Meghan, and Jillian Murphy , and Connor, Kyle, Sarah, and Rachel Cullen; also, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Wargo and his daughter-in-law, Angela Lydiksen.

A Memorial Service in Celebration of Edward's life will be on Monday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Huntington United Methodist Church, 338 Walnut Tree Hill Rd., Shelton. Interment will be in the spring in Lawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour has care of the arrangements.
