Life Story for Edward M Soda

Mr. Edward M. Soda, age 92, beloved husband of Margaret Ann (Maximenko) Soda of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He was born on October 11, 1921 in Derby and was the son of the late George and Anna (Krowszyk) Soda. Mr. Soda was a plumber and pipe fitter at the Farrel Corp in Ansonia for 44 years before his retirement. Mr. Soda was a U.S. Army veteran and served during WWII. He was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd and a member of Hotchkiss Hose Co. in Derby and the David S. Miles, American Legion Post 174 in Oxford. As his boys were growing up, he enjoyed attending all their sporting events and later loved helping them with various projects. He was an avid Red Sox fan and NY Giants fan and also enjoyed golfing and fishing.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves two devoted sons, David L. Soda and his wife, Leslie and William G. Soda, four grandchildren, Jonathan, Haley, Jason and James Soda all of Oxford and his sister, Vivian Signoretti of New Jersey. His brother, John Soda and his sister, Josephine Uluski predeceased him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 25 at 12:15 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Interment in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour with Military Honors. Family and friends may call on Friday from 11:15 to 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
