Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Haynes (Nolan)

Elizabeth “Betty” Haynes, age 89 of Southbury, a former longtime Seymour resident, having also resided in Oxford, CT and Inverness, FL, she entered into peaceful rest on June 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family; she was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Raymond Haynes. Mrs. Haynes was born June 1, 1932 in New Haven, daughter of the late Edward and Marian (Rowe) Nolan. Betty retired as a cook having worked at the Seymour School System, and also the Southbury Training School. Betty enjoyed travel, camping, casino trips to p lay the slots and bingo. She will be fondly remembered for her cooking and her special recipes for all to enjoy.
Betty leaves her loving family including her children, Sheryl Cole (Sam), Paul Haynes (Linda), Thomas Haynes (Marianne), Rosemary Davidson (James), William Haynes (Margaret) and Laura Mayers (Keith); 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Edward Nolan, and her sisters, Eleanor Keeley and Marie Aronson, as well as her daughter in law, Susan (Bunk) Haynes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Parish-St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour (DIRECTLY). Interment will follow at Mountain Meadows Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour is entrusted with the arrangements.
