Obituary for Elizabeth Hughes-Picard (Hughes)

SEYMOUR- Today we celebrate Elizabeth Mary Hughes-Picard, who was taken from us on January 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born on December 25, 1986, in Seymour. She worked proudly for Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Elizabeth was a giver, she volunteered at many organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Road to Refuge, and planting flowers at the New Haven VA Medical Center for veterans. She had a kind soul and loved her family, life and animals. Every person she met, she left a mark. She was beautiful and always smiled, showing such compassion for her family and her animals. Elizabeth’s hobbies were all different hobbies. She loved painting, learned how to knit, make candles, and bred her favorite livestock, which were chickens, turkeys and rabbits. But she loved all creatures, especially her dogs King and Pixie. All of them loved her. On September 17, 2009, she married Vance Ray Picard, Jr. and resided in Seymour for over 15 years till present. Elizabeth was predeceased by her father, James Hughes and is survived by her Mother, Cynthia Flood-Hughes; Step-Father, Andy Worobel; Brother, James Hughes; Husband, Vance R. Picard, Jr.; Daughter, Juliana Picard; Son, Mason Natusch and her Grandson, Oliver Natusch-Kemp.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 1pm to 3pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
