Tractor Time

When I was a young boy I wanted to be a farmer. My fathers family in Oxford was very good friends with Bud's famil. My Dad and Bud were very good life long friends.I spent a lot of time at the Mead farm.I went fishing with Jeff in the brook and also fishing at DeWolf's pond as well as swimming in the farm pond. My fondest memory though was picking rocks off a newly plowed field. We would load the tractor loader with rocks and ride the 20 feet or so to the old dump truck, dump the rocks in the truck and ride the couple of hundred feet to dump the rocks. And so and so on.It was great fun for a wide eyed 12 year old, just to ride on the back of the tractor and to get to steer the old truck.Bud wasn't a big man but he looked 7 ft tall to me and he was strong as an ox.I've never known a harder working man. Some of the the best times of my life were with Bud and Flora.
