BEACON FALLS: Mrs. Ernestine A. Greene, age 91, of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of the late Former First Selectman of Beacon Falls, James P. Greene, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Greene was born on September 14, 1917 in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Leonard and Martha (Chase) Schaefer. She was a computer operator for Uniroyal in Naugatuck before her retirement. Mrs. Greene was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seymour and an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She was also a former employee for Risdon Manufacturing in Naugatuck. Mrs. Greene is survived by two devoted sons, Leonard C. Greene of Beacon Falls, a former CT State Representative and Kenneth S. Greene and his wife Kathleen of Oxford, a devoted daughter, Marcia E. Gunter of Waterbury, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Sears of Ocala, Florida. Her son, James P. Greene, Jr. and her brother, Harold Schaefer predeceased her. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment to follow in Pinesbridge Cemetery in Beacon Falls. There will be no calling hours.
