Obituary for Estelle B. Daum (Root)

Naugatuck, CT: Estelle B. (Root) Daum, age 58 of Naugatuck, she passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. Estelle was the longtime companion and fiancée to David Plante of Naugatuck. She was born on December 9, 1960 in Derby, daughter of the late Earle Cameron and Margaret Lily (Pelley) Root. Estelle was employed at Keno Graphic Services doing quality control. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church, Seymour. Ms. Daum loved to paint, and was an accomplished artist; she enjoyed cooking, gardening and entertaining, she also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Estelle was a big fan of the NY Yankees, and the Green Bay Packers. She will be fondly remembered for her love for her family, friends, and always helping others in need.

In addition to her fiancée Dave, Estelle leaves her loving family including her son, Christopher Root and his wife Christina of Shelton, her daughters, Elisha Root of Bridgeport; Monica Psaltis and husband Ioannis of Stratford, Teresa Daum and her fiancé Paulo Pipa of Naugatuck; her brothers, Earle Root, Jr. of Seymour, David Root of Naugatuck, Matthew Root and his wife Maggie of Ansonia, and Roy Piper of Waterbury; her sisters, Dena Forbes and her husband Leslie of Wallingford, and Jane Raccio of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Cameron, Paulo-Alexander, and Emmanuel Jay. She also leaves her beloved pet dog Bam Bam.

Calling Hours are Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. The Funeral Service in celebration of Estelle’s life will be Wednesday at 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home to Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street, Seymour for a Service of Requiem Eucharist at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Northwest Cemetery, Woodbridge.For directions and to share a memory online please visit www.hullfh.com
