Obituary for Gary J. Krol
Gary J. Krol, age 72 of Beacon Falls, a former longtime resident of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest on May 16, 2021 at his home with his beloved wife of 30 years, Darcy (Gregory) Krol by his side. Gary was born on March 19, 1949 in Bridgeport, son of the late Frank and Pearl (Butler) Krol. Mr. Krol retired from Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford where he was employed for 30 years as a Facilities Planner.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating and travel, especially spending time in Vermont. For Gary it was always “family first and foremost”; he loved children, especially his own, and he loved animals too. Gary was described as a hard worker and a fighter. He fought his way to overcome obstacles on all levels, particularly when it came to his life-long battle with a no-win progressive illness that he endured for many years. Gary will always be remembered as a funny and loving person with a wonderful positive attitude, which attributed to being very well liked by his co-workers at Sikorsky.
In addition to his beloved wife Darcy, Gary leaves his loving family including his son, Francis Krol and his wife Helen of Naugatuck, his daughter, Erica Krol-Teal of Seymour; his brothers, Russell Krol and his wife Janice of Trumbull, and Lee Krol of Stratford; his sisters, Joan Sheehy of Torrington, and Terri Clark of Naugatuck; his granddaughter, Isabella Teal of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. His brother Ronald Krol predeceased him. Gary also leaves his beloved dogs Peanut Moochie and Frodo.
Calling Hours are Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A funeral service in celebration of Gary’s life will immediately follow at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
