SOUTHBURY: Mr. George A. Lacey, age 87, beloved husband of 62 years to Margaret I. (Zboray) Lacey of Southbury and formerly of Bellerose, New York. George passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in Southbury. He was born on July 7, 1921 in New York, New York to the late Joseph and Catherine (Trabert) Lacey. George was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He was a truck driver for Barnett International in New York for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Leisure Club and enjoyed bowling and golfing. In addition to his devoted wife, he leaves his daughter, Susan Mole and her husband Clifford of Oxford and two grandchildren, David Mole and his wife Pam of Meriden and Karen Mole of Waterbury, a great grandson, Trevor Mole and two sisters Katherine Wieland of North Carolina and Florence Dowd of Florida and several nieces and nephews. His loving daughter, Gloria Lacey, two brothers, Joseph Lacey and Thomas Lacey and his sister, Louise McMahon predeceased him. Family and friends may call on Thursday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13 at 9 a.m. in Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Interment to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 279 New Britain Road, Kensington, CT 06037.
