Obituary for Gerald V. Colley
NAUGATUCK: Gerald V. Colley, age 81 of Naugatuck, formerly of Seymour and New Haven, beloved husband of Elaine (Clark) Colley, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, February 3, 2022 in Waterbury Hospital. Born in Richmond, VA, on April 22, 1940, he was the first born son of the late Charles Colley and Helen(Sears)'Colley' Yolinski.
Gerald retired from bank securities and was also a proud US Army veteran who enjoyed serving his time in Italy. He loved books, music, and was always up for a conversation, enjoying telling the most humorous stories and jokes. His love for Jesus always had him ready to have a good theological discussion.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, survivors include his loving daughter, Sheryl 'Sheri' Albaugh (Barry) of Naugatuck; his two cherished grandsons, William and Brian Jennings both of Naugatuck; siblings, Janice Harvell (Chuck) of CO, Lee Colley (Marcia) of NY, Luanne Welwood (Stuart) of CO, Kothy Hafersat (Richard) of Oxford, and Lee Heller of Seymour; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his siblings, Sandra Salomon and Charles Colley as well as his step-father, Edward Yolinski.
Memorial donations in Gerald’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
All services will be held at the convenience of the family and the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT, 06483 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
