Life Story for Gurley A. Dieckman (Anderson)

Gurley A.  Dieckman (Anderson)
Oxford, CT; Gurley (Anderson) Dieckman, age 74 of Oxford entered into peaceful rest at her home on September 10, 2009 after a 20 year courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer F. “Bud” Dieckman. Gurley was born on February 11, 1935 in Bronx , NY daughter of the late Gustav Henry and Ida Irene (Sundman) Anderson. She was a communicant of Immanuel Lutheran Church , Oxford . She was a retired account and worked for Skills Air Compressor Co., Long Island , NY . Mrs. Dieckman was a member of the Oxford Seniors and their craft group; she was a member of the Red Hat Ladies in Oxford and Sussex , NJ. She loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. She resided in Oxford since 2003.



Gurley leaves her loving sister, Helena Rotzal and her husband Henry of Oxford with whom she resided. One cousin, Rolf and his wife Gun, Haddon of Sweden, a second cousin Lorraine Zagorski and her husband Walter of Sussex, NJ and several other cousins, nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church , Great Hill Road Oxford at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mountain Meadows Cemetery , Seymour . Family and friends may call at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street , Seymour on Sunday, 3:00-5:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to CT Hospice, 270, Ste. 229 , Farmington Ave. , Farmington , CT 06032 .
