Obituary for Harold V. Anderson

BETHANY, CT: Harold V. Anderson, age 88 of Bethany entered into peaceful rest November 3, 2008 at the Masonic Home, Wallingford; he was the beloved husband of 65 years to Evelyn (Sponheimer) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was born May 2, 1920 in Derby, son of the late Otto Arthur and Louisa (Vik) Anderson. Harold was a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a retired toolmaker from Risdon Manufacturing, Naugatuck after 35 years, and in 1974 he founded Gary Industries, Bethany where he worked until recently. Harold enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf; he loved spending time with his family and friends, and will be fondly remembered for the enjoyment he received from his work.
In addition to his wife, Harold leaves his loving family including his son, Gary Anderson and his wife Kathleen Self of Bethany, two daughters, Louise Holmes and her husband Paul, and Daleen Anderson and her husband William R. Burns, II all of Bethany, his brother, Fred Anderson and his wife Barbara of Woodbridge, 5 grandchildren, Erik and Amie Holmes, Louisa Milligan and her husband Patrick, Brett Cox, and Kirsten Cox and her husband Timothy Guiterman, two great grandchildren, Aedan Milligan and Kody Guiterman, and two nieces.
A funeral service in celebration of Harold’s life will be Thursday at 10:30 am in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Northwest Cemetery, Woodbridge. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home also Thursday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to Bethany Ambulance Fund, Amity Rd., Bethany, CT 06524, or to the American Cancer Society, Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450
